A radio documentary exploring the effect of war on the families of those in the armed services has won two broadcast journalism awards in the US. Letters of Love from Home was originally broadcast on the University of Lincoln's community radio station, Siren FM. It was made by Samantha Pidoux, learning adviser in the Lincoln School of Journalism, based on her own experiences of watching her father, who was a flight sergeant in the RAF, depart for service overseas. The documentary picked up the awards for international news documentary and feature reporting from the Radio Television Digital News Association.
