More than £380 million is to be invested in updating the campus at the University of Leeds as it aims to "secure a place among the world's top 50 universities". The investment programme, the biggest at the university since the 1960s, comprises the provision of new educational, research, residential and leisure facilities. Included in the main projects are a new home for the School of Law, a 500-bed hall of residence, a new energy building and refurbishments of the library and earth and environment building. Funds are coming from the Higher Education Funding Council for England, university reserves and financing loans.
