Research in the field of education has been given an international boost via a British institution's collaboration with a Chinese university. A delegation from East China Normal University visited the University of Exeter to discuss links in the areas of teacher training and inclusive education. Tang Mingjian, vice-president of East China Normal, and four of his colleagues from the College of Preschool and Special Education met with academics from the Graduate School of Education at Exeter to discuss joint research. Exeter is offering a scholarship for a doctoral student from China, as well as exploring curriculum exchange and joint working on conferences and journal articles.
