A 500-strong collection of historical medical texts, dating to the earliest days of printing and containing works by the founding fathers of medicine and surgery, has been made available to the University of Essex's Albert Sloman Library. The books make up the collection of the Colchester Medical Society and are now on permanent loan to the library, where they will be made available to researchers, students and the public.
