Three days of events are planned to mark the 150th birthday of Sir D'Arcy Wentworth Thompson, the Edinburgh-born biologist, mathematician and classicist. The scholar will be remembered at the University of Dundee where he was a pioneer in the life sciences. Talks will be held at the College of Life Sciences alongside an exhibition of artistic responses to Professor Thompson's academic work at the university's Lamb Gallery, Sketching the Universe. The celebration will run from 2 to 4 September.
