A university is offering potential students the opportunity to enrol on a "bite-sized" course to see whether higher education is for them. The University of Derby will launch its 12-week introductory courses from January. Students will typically attend one lecture a week alongside full-time students. The course will give credits towards a full degree or diploma if the students decide to stay on. More than 30 courses will be offered across a range of subject areas, including "race in the cinema", "stars and celebrities" and "introduction to crime scene investigation".
