Trainee teachers lack lessons in PE

Some primary trainee teachers are given under eight hours training in how to teach physical education, according to the Office for Standards in Education. On average, postgraduate trainees do 23 hours and undergraduates 32 hours. But some do as little as seven-and-a-half. "This is clearly insufficient to enable trainees to learn how to teach all aspects of PE effectively," said the Ofsted report.
