An MSc in intelligent biometric security systems has been launched by The Robert Gordon University to meet growing need for those skills in industries ranging from law enforcement and financial services to gaming and transport. Demand for biometric technologies, particularly face and fingerprint recognition, in security and surveillance systems has been rising in the wake of terrorist attacks worldwide and increasing levels of identity theft. The MSc, the first of its kind in the UK, aims to bridge the gap between supply and demand for skilled staff.
