Software to take the pain out of computer crashes during transactions on the internet has been developed by a group of Newcastle University scientists.
The new software ensures that electronic transactions are either completed or cancelled in the event of a computer crash, meaning that erroneous data - the cause of many problems for companies -cannot enter databases when a crash occurs at a crucial moment.
The Newcastle University computer scientists, who have tested the software over the past five years on the electronic registration of students at the university, have now set up their own company, Arjuna Solutions Ltd, to market the software.
