Scots set up think-tank

May 7, 2004

The University of the Highlands and Islands Millennium Institute is setting up a think-tank to give the region a stronger voice with which to influence government policy both in Westminster and Holyrood. The UHI PolicyWeb aims to forge links with other rural areas in Scotland and abroad. Its first director is John Bryden, professor of human geography at Aberdeen University and co-director of the university's Arkleton Institute for Rural Development Research.
