These postdoctoral fellowships are funded on an annual basis by the Scottish Executive Education and Life-Long Learning Department. The fellowships are available in any discipline, but preference is given to topics likely to improve the use of resources and creation of wealth in Scotland. Support fellowships are available to academic teaching staff (aged 40 or under), of any discipline in Scottish higher education institutions and provide the opportunity to take 12 months away from teaching duties and concentrate on research.
