Former jurors will have the chance to overhaul the legal system with the help of Scottish academics. Robert Gordon University is looking for volunteers who have served on a jury to take part in research that could change how the courts communicate with jurors. The study aims to address the fact that jurors' ability to understand proceedings in the courtroom can play a large part in the outcome of trials. Volunteers for the project, led by Derek Auchie, senior lecturer in law, will answer a questionnaire and take part in a focus group to establish how well they understood the cases they were involved in.
