Research Fellowships

Deadline: 18/01/2002

October 31, 2001

The Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine is a registered charity established to support fundamental research of relevance to preventive medicine. The Institute invites applications for its senior research fellowships, of which up to five will be available from October 2002.

The research area is of the applicant's own choice but must be in a biological, biomedical or related field. The fellowships are tenable for five years and are transferable within the UK.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years' post-doctoral experience and may hold permanent academic posts. Applications will not be accepted from persons permanently employed by Research Councils or medical research charities.

Non-clinical candidates must be 33 years of age or under, and clinicians 35 years or under, on 1 October 2002. In exceptional circumstances, the Institute would consider electing an over-age fellow (up to 40 years) or awarding a part-time fellowship. Would-be applicants in either of these categories must contact the Institute to obtain permission to apply.
