The aim of this thematic programme is to develop coupled modelling and observation systems for the pelagic ecosystem, with emphasis on physical factors affecting zooplankton population dynamics. Research propoals should be submitted as full bids to NERC Awards & Training (MarProd thematic), Polaris House, North Star Avenue, Swindon SN2 1EU. Application forms can be obtained from www.nerc.ac.uk/awards with eligibility information included in the research grants booklet, available from that site.
Most Phase 2 proposals will be closely linked to marine productivity research cruises. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the programme's science coordinator to receive further information on cruise plans.
