Natfhe demands warning of job cuts

April 19, 2002

Lecturers' union Natfhe has warned London vice-chancellors that they must consult unions over significant job cuts.

University of Greenwich staff are being offered voluntary severance, particularly in law and the social sciences, and chemistry. Natfhe also wrote to Thames Valley University, which is seeking to shed staff. Natfhe said the university told it fewer than 20 staff would lose their jobs. The University of East London accepted that it needed to consult Natfhe.
