The government recently announced the provision of £40m through the 2002 spending review to support research on stem cells. MRC, BBSRC, ESRC, EPSRC and CCLRC will work together via a new Cross Council Co-ordinating Committee. The MRC invites expressions of interest in three year strategic grants to undertake underpinning research on stem cells.
