The sort of academic who forces us to question our very origins has struck again, this time at the root of the North Staffordshire pottery industry. Rodney Hampson, research fellow at Keele University, while writing a book, has discovered that the company Churchill China is 46 years older than it had thought. Having celebrated its 150th anniversary four years ago it is now looking forward to celebrating its bicentenary this year. Success obviously breeds success.
