The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Max Planck Society jointly confer the Max Planck Research Award on exceptionally highly-qualified German and foreign scientists and scholars who have already achieved international recognition and who are expected to continue to produce outstanding academic achievements in international collaboration - not least with the assistance of this award. Recipients of the Max Planck Research Award will be granted funding of up to 750,000 Euros over a period of three to a maximum of five years in order to pursue research of their own choosing.
