A US university has received £50 million to start a nursing school. The donation to University of California, Davis, is believed to be the largest gift ever made to nursing education as well as the largest to the college. It is being used to open the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, which will take 456 postgraduate students, with the first enrolling in 2008.
