Solo spaceship unveiled
Space fanatic Steve Bennett today unveiled what could become the first privately piloted spaceship, Nova, which is 10m high and can take one person into space. Mr Bennett is managing director of Starchaser Industries, based at Salford University.

Equal opportunities appoints commissioner
Rowena Arshad, director of Edinburgh University’s Centre for Education for Racial Equality in Scotland, has been appointed commissioner with special knowledge of Scotland by the Equal Opportunities Commission.

Cardiff finds lock-up for students
Students at Cardiff University could find themselves getting a lecture at the local nick. The university is interested in buying the Central Police Station in Cathays Park.
