Yale student missing in South Africa
South African police are searching for a Yale University student who has been missing for three weeks after finishing a Zulu language course at the University of Natal. Natasha Smalls last called her mother on July 30 to confirm her return flight arrival time.

Syria opens door to private educators
Syria has relaxed its opposition to private universities and colleges, paving the way for a flurry of cooperative ventures with institutions in the United States and the European Union. The first private venture is the High Institute for Business Administration, part-funded by the EU.
