New York institute gets $130m gift
An anonymous donor has given $130 million to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, to build a biotechnology research building and an electronic media and performing arts centre. The institute expects to increase research spending to about $100 million from $40 million in the next five years.
