Lancaster University - Postgrad stats centre launches

Criminology and cancer will be among the diverse range of subjects studied at a new Postgraduate Statistics Centre at Lancaster University. The newly opened facility, one of 74 centres for excellence in teaching and learning being set up across the country, is the only one to focus on postgraduate statistics. It will be used as a national training centre. Gillian Lancaster, the centre's director, said: "Statisticians are found in all areas of the private and public sectors, and the demand for statisticians is high and growing."
