A newly appointed professor of law is conducting a major study into the impact of antisocial behaviour orders (Asbos). Julia Fionda, of Kingston University, has completed a pilot study, which suggests that the orders can have a harmful effect on young offenders. Her research also raises questions about whether Asbos may lead their recipients deeper into criminality.
