A new health psychology service for adults with "dental anxiety", the first of its kind in the UK, has been launched by King's College London. Tim Newton, leader of the new service, said: "Dental fear can have a great impact on people's oral health by causing them to delay seeking treatment when they have toothache and by avoiding the opportunity for preventive advice about how to look after their teeth ... We hope to develop a range of methods to help people overcome their fear."
