A careers service has been awarded with a national quality standard for its information, advice and guidance on learning and work. Imperial College London's Careers Advisory Service (CAS) was praised for its varied programme of workshops and seminars, drop-in sessions for students, library and website. To obtain the Matrix Standard Certificate, eight different areas were examined, from how aware people were of the service to the quality of the information available. Elspeth Farrar, director of the CAS, said: "Over the last year we have focused more on addressing the needs of international students by running careers fairs in China, Hong Kong and Singapore. We have also started events specifically for PhD students as they have different needs to undergraduates."
