Hall in a day's work

August 24, 2001

The Open University has been unable to confirm reports that Jerry Hall, model and former star of the West End production of The Graduate , has signed on an "introduction to humanities" course. A Jerry Hall is on the books, but there are more than 100 people of that name in London.

Ms Hall's agency, Models One, is equally in the dark, although a spokeswoman said it "absolutely could be" true, so long as the 45-year-old mother of four had the time. "She's incredibly busy," she said. "But when working there's a lot of hanging around in trailers" - enough perhaps to analyse the start of the French revolution, assess George Bernard Shaw's play, Pygmalion , and (the easy part) cultural movements in the 1960s.
