Glam it up, Salford

Glam rock as a module option? Marc Bolan as a research topic? Unlikely as it sounds, visiting professor Philip Auslander is about to share his expert knowledge of the 1970s popular music scene with students at Salford University.

The author and professor in the School of Literature, Communication and Culture at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, has been appointed campus fellow at Salford's School of Media, Music and Performance. He will lecture on the leading performers in glam rock, including David Bowie, Bryan Ferry and Marc Bolan.
