Oxford Brookes University has been forced to back down on charging full-time undergraduate tuition fees of up to Pounds 4,700 for "private" courses. The fee was introduced for courses run principally for overseas students; UK applicants were being directed to similar programmes offered for the standard fee. The university has been forced by the Department for Education and Employment to admit British students on to the same course.
