Environmental Factors in the Chronology of Human Evolution & Dispersal

Deadline: 26/04/2002

March 1, 2002

The NERC has established a mini-thematic programme on Environmental Factors in the Chronology of Human Evolution and Dispersal (EFCHED), with funding of £2 million over four years. The purpose of the programme is to answer the question: what impact did environmental factors have on human evolution and dispersal?

EFCHED aims to explore the interface between the disciplines engaged in human evolution research. It is expected that standard grants will be in the range £30,000 - £250,000. Applications showing strong links between at least two disciplines will be favoured over applications that have weak scientific and intellectual connectivity with many disciplines.
