In January 1995, The EJLB Foundation established a Scholar Research Programme in order to provide outstanding young researchers with an opportunity to launch their scientific careers. Under this programme, up to seven grants of CAN$300,000 each, are awarded yearly to young scientists who have earned an M.D. and/or a Ph.D. degree, have completed their post-graduate training and have been admitted in the preceding five years as faculty members of a leading university or affiliated non-profit research centre in Canada or elsewhere in the world.
