Universities are not spending enough to train their knowledge-transfer staff, says a Department for Trade and Industry report.
Although many managers and practitioners have postgraduate degrees as well as professional qualifications, universities are experiencing a skills shortage because they do not offer training in the needed skills, the independent report says. It recommends that the DTI and the Department for Education and Skills set up a knowledge-transfer skills centre.
