De Montfort University is to submit a planning application to Leicester City Council, which would transform the heart of the historic city at a cost of £105 million over ten years.
University buildings will be replaced or refurbished, and offices, shops, riverside flats and public squares are proposed. The plan to develop a 12-hectare site would be funded by the university, the Further Education Funding Council and private partners.
