ARC clinician scientist fellowships are awarded to medical graduates who have completed their first period of research training (in most cases having obtained a PhD) and who are committed to a career in academic medicine. They provide a combination of clinical training with a period of postdoctoral research in any discipline relevant to arthritis and related musculoskeletal diseases. The length of the fellowship will reflect the number of years of specialist training still required by the fellow in addition to 3 years' postdoctoral scientific training.
