Alumnus to be proud of No 30 is Cedric Brown, the British Gas man and life- imitates-art incarnation of Harry Enfield's most famous concept, who received awesome amounts of cash this week in return for being disconnected from his job. Yes he did, as numerous profiles have pointed out, go straight into the business from school and work his way from bottom to top. But while doing so he attended the colleges of technology at Derby (now Derby University), Rotherham and Sheffield (now Sheffield Hallam University).
