As the 2010 Fifa World Cup gathered steam, Aston University last week played host to its own global football tournament, with more than a dozen teams from around the world taking part. University staff, students and alumni aged 45 and over represented their home countries in the third Universities Masters' World Cup Tournament, held from 18 to 20 June, with Aston's team representing England. Money raised from the tournament will be donated to the Homeless World Cup Foundation, a football charity.
