A veil of secrecy has descended, it seems, over the art adorning the walls of Bristol University. The Times Higher asked all universities for information about their art collections for a feature in this week's edition. Some universities sent images, some sent phone numbers of curators, while some offered an open invitation to view collections.
But interpreting a request for help as a request under the Freedom of Information Act, Bristol replied: "I write to advise you that it will take more than two and a half days to process your request... We are therefore not obliged to provide you with the information you requested."
What, exactly, is in these pictures?
