National Review of Resource Allocation in the NHS

Arthur Midwinter, professor and dean of arts and social sciences at the University of Strathclyde, has been appointed a member.

University of Wolverhampton

John Rice, deputy chief executive of Wolverhampton's Chamber of Commerce, Training and Enterprise, has been appointed deputy chairman of the university's board of governors; Bryony Conway, assistant principal for higher education at Croydon College, has been appointed dean of the business school.

City University

The business school has appointed Raymond Madden, director of the PhD programme at London Business School, as the director of executive development.

Roehampton Institute, London

Shelagh Legrave, director and deputy head of finance of global financial markets at NatWest, has been appointed director of finance.

Economic History Society

P. O'Brien, senior research fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London, has been elected president.
