The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation grants up to 150 Humboldt Research Awards annually to foreign scholars with internationally recognized academic qualifications. The award is intended as a lifelong tribute to the past academic accomplishments of award winners. Furthermore, award winners are invited to carry out research projects of their own choice in Germany in cooperation with German specialist colleagues for periods of between six months and one year. The award can amount up to EUR 75,000.
