Access to Arctic Research Facility

The Lapland Atmosphere-Biosphere Facility is situated in Northern Finland north of 66 degrees latitude.

The main objective of the facility is to enhance international scientific co-operation and to offer a unique place for multidisciplinary environmental and atmospheric research in the most arctic region of the European Union. Visiting scientists can do multidisciplinary research on the thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere, troposphere and biosphere and study the relationships between the atmosphere and ecosystems.

Only researchers of EU nationality, conducting their research in the Member States of the Community (Finland excluded) or Associated States, are eligible for support. Grants cover travel and subsistence costs for the visits of up to three months.
