Fellowships

THE LABAN CENTRE. The Laban Centre for Movement and Dance awarded honorary fellowships to the following: Merce Cunningham, New York based-choreographer; Stuart Hopps, former associate director of Scottish Ballet and head of MA dance studies at the centre; Judith Mackrell, dance critic for The Guardian and formerly The Independent.

UNIVERSITY OF GLAMORGAN. External fellowships in the following departments/centres have been conferred: computer studies - Chris Darke, head of regional tissue typing laboratory, National Blood Transfusion Service (Wales); mechanical and manufacturing engineering - Tony Featherstone, self-employed consultant; electronics and IT - Leo Ivrismtzis, research fellow at the University of Birmingham; civil engineering - T. Jones, new materials manager at ECC International; civil engineering - D. Moore, structural design division at the Building Research Establishment.

UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL LANCASHIRE. Honorary fellowship: Joephine Farrington, Lancashire county councillor, former chair of the education committee, chair of the Association of County Councils and former president of the Council of Europe Committee.
