ROYAL ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING John McCanny, professor of microelectronics engineering at Queen's University Belfast has been awarded the Silver Medal for advances in the design of silicon chips for use in digital signal processing.
ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY The London Scientific Medal has been awarded to John Speakman, University of Aberdeen, for his distinguished contribution to the study of animal energetics.
TEMPLETON UK PROJECTS AWARDS The Religions and Education Research Unit in the University of Warwick has been announced as the winner of the Spring 1996 Institutional Awards.
ROTHSCHILD PRIZE The Rothschild Prize has been awarded to Yoseph Imry, Max Planck chair of quantum physics at the Wiezmann Institute of Science in Israel.
