ROYAL SOCIETY OF PAINTER PRINTMAKERS

David Carpanini, head of art and design at the University of Wolverhampton, has been elected vicepresident of the RSPP.

UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF RIPON AND YORK ST JOHN

Robin Butler, currently at Loughborough University of Technology, has been appointed principal, succeeding Gordon McGregor on his retirement.

DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION

Peter Davis, chairman of the National Advisory Council for Education and Training Targets, has been appointed chairman of the Adult Literacy and Basic Skills Unit for another three-year term.

UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL

Ian Huntley, dean of learning and teaching at Sheffield Hallam University, has been appointed director of continuing education.

Malcolm Johnson, dean of the school of health and social welfare at the Open University, has been appointed director of the school for policy studies.

KING'S COLLEGE LONDON

Timothy Ditchfield, curate of St John the Evangelist (Anglican) Church and curate-in-charge of Clayton Brook Community Church in Chorley, has been appointed chaplain.
