For-profit, Fol free? 2

August 26, 2010

Why would any private college take on departments that are closed by cuts ("Struggling colleges reach for BPP life raft in a bid to stay afloat", 19 August)? Yes, the staff may be excellent, but the departments were most likely closed for cost reasons. How will BPP be able to succeed where the public sector failed?

I'd be very wary of this. At best it is PR puff to try to soften BPP's image, at worst it could be that it will take on these departments, but asset-strip them and merge them so that it has one department with what it classes as the best employees (within budget).

Here's hoping I'm totally wrong, though.
