You will be responsible for managing projects and leading the team focussed on transforming key crop species that align with PSBA’s service offerings. Work that matters  The role will also utilise tissue culture and molecular biology techniques used in plant synthetic biology experiments. The position will assist with implementation and streamlining organisational processes and will liaise with all PSBA AU staff to make sure the facilities run efficiently, and ensure staff and students adopt a community of practise for facility operations. The role will collaborate closely with the Innovation Officer to develop new service offerings and improve methodologies and will require a hands-on approach in the laboratory and in growth facilities on the Waite Campus from time to time. The team Plant Synthetic Biology Australia (PSBA) consists of a network of national facilities with nodes at Adelaide University, Australian National University, La Trobe University and University of Western Australia. Experience  To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:  Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or PhD in plant science, genetics, physiology or biotechnology, or a substantially relevant discipline Extensive experience in conducting independent scientific research, supervising research students or personnel and high-quality publications involving plant transformation. Evidence of successful execution of plant transformation projects and meeting project deadlines. Ref.: 534286 Work type: Full-time Department: Faculty of Dentistry (08000) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor in Periodontology of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.:534286), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed- term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms subject to approval. The Faculty of Dentistry is the only dental school in Hong Kong and the only one in Greater China that uses English as the medium of instruction. The high quality of the Faculty’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, research excellence and clinical/professional services have attained global recognition, as evidenced by the Faculty’s global rankings among the top three by the QS World University Rankings by Subject for nine out of the past eleven years (2015-2025). The Faculty’s strategic research themes include Clinical Artificial Intelligence, Craniofacial Regeneration, Microbiome Innovation, Oral Cancer, and Population Oral Health. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in clinical care, research and teaching in the field of Implant Dentistry on top of sound knowledge and training in Periodontology. Ability to partake undergraduate periodontology teaching / education and fluency in spoken and written English are essential. For appointment as Clinical Associate Professor, applicants should possess a Dental Bachelor's degree or equivalent, clinical specialist in Periodontology or equivalent status with proficiency in Implant Dentistry, a Ph.D. degree or equivalent, and an excellent track record in research. They should have (i) proven ability for quality research, publications in high quality international journals, and evidence of local and regional recognition for scholarship and professional expertise; (ii) demonstrated ability in undergraduate and postgraduate education, clinical practice and research; (iii) demonstrated clinical expertise; (iv) demonstrated participation in Faculty and University affairs; and (v) demonstrated ability in KE activities, and leadership in professional education programmes or community engagement. For appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor, applicants should possess a Dental Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a Master of Dental Surgery degree or equivalent in Periodontology with good clinical experiences in Implant Dentistry. They should have (i) ability in undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching and practice; (ii) potential for and interest in research; (iii) proven ability in clinical excellence; (iv) ability and willingness to participate in Faculty affairs; and (v) participation in KE activities. Publications in international peer-reviewed journals are an advantage. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits.
