The Role In this hands-on role, you will support the planning and delivery of a wide range of events across GSA and the wider University. Working closely with academic staff, professional services colleagues, visiting artists, and students, you will help deliver high-quality technical solutions that support learning, performance, and public engagement. We are seeking emerging scholars whose work advances the understanding and treatment of psychiatric disorders and improves mental and physical health outcomes. We welcome applicants from psychiatry and related fields, including psychiatric epidemiology, digital mental health, artificial intelligence and machine learning in mental health, big data analytics, and pharmacoepidemiology. Applicants who adopt multidisciplinary approaches to address key challenges in psychiatry and mental health are particularly encouraged to apply. Description The Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to develop calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Ali Trabolsi, Professor of Chemistry and co-PI at the Water Research Center. The successful candidate will develop new calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification applications. To explore this area of macrocycle-based porous frameworks for water contaminant removal, the candidate will be involved in the directed synthesis of organic macrocycle containing linkers and porous frameworks and then investigate the supramolecular interactions with various organic pollutants. This would require knowledge in the design and synthesis of porous frameworks, particularly in techniques such as Schlenk line, glove box, powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, electron microscopy, and porosity analysis. The candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of the analytical techniques used to characterize the materials. Experience in the application of such materials to water treatment is preferred. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Applicants must have a PhD in chemistry or materials science. Excellent experimental and synthetic skills relevant to the project (particularly, synthesis of covalent organic frameworks) are required. The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
