Ref.: 534426 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (21500) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534426), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. We are seeking emerging scholars whose work advances the understanding and treatment of psychiatric disorders and improves mental and physical health outcomes. We welcome applicants from psychiatry and related fields, including psychiatric epidemiology, digital mental health, artificial intelligence and machine learning in mental health, big data analytics, and pharmacoepidemiology. Applicants who adopt multidisciplinary approaches to address key challenges in psychiatry and mental health are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should possess: (i) a Ph.D. degree in psychiatry, psychology, public health, population health, data science, epidemiology, or a related discipline; (ii) a proven track record of impactful research, publications, external grants and leadership; and (iii) experience in teaching or mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of psychiatry. The appointee is expected to conduct independent and collaborative research of high academic merit, and secure competitive external research funding to maintain an active research programme. He/She will contribute to teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students. He/She will also undertake administrative and service duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. About the job: The candidate will be an active member of a research team focussed on the development of novel formulations based on solid drug nanoparticles and electrospun patches for the management of diseases with therapeutic gaps. He/She will assist in the planning and delivery of research activities related to his/her research and ensure that the overall research objectives of the project are met. As a Research Fellow of the Paredes Lab, the candidate will be involved in supervision activities, engagement with partners, and dissemination and outreach activities.
