Teesside University is a public university located in Middlesbrough in the north east of England, with a satellite campus at Darlington. The university consists of five academic schools:School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies; School of Health and Life Sciences; School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law; Teesside University Business School, and the MIMA School of Art and Design. There are specialist media facilities on campus including a convergent newsroom, broadcast news studios, multimedia publishing and computing suites. Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, a contemporary art gallery in the centre of Middlesbrough, is run in partnership with Teesside University and has exhibited works from David Hockney and Tracy Emin.

Description The Shubeita laboratory in the program of Physics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral research associate to work on unravelling principles that drive cellular organization. The successful applicant will lead research projects to study the interplay between active cytoskeletal transport, cytoskeletal organization, and the physical driving forces of macromolecular crowding. Research will take place within a multidisciplinary group of postdoctoral and predoctoral researchers trained in physics, biology, and chemistry with whom the successful candidate will collaborate closely. Applicants must have a PhD in physics or a related field. Excellent analytical skills are required. Prior experience in the experimental techniques used in the lab such as optical tweezers and quantitative imaging is advantageous but not required. The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children. The research will be conducted within the Computational Engineering & Design Group of the Department, on a fixed term - full time contract for a duration of 33 months. The role The role is an Innovation Action within a Horizon Europe funded research project coordinated by the University of Southampton that will deliver an Industry 5.0 AI-enabled digital framework that streamlines remanufacturing in the automotive sector.
