The private institution has its main campus in the Fenway, Roxbury and Back Bay areas of Boston, Massachusetts, but has satellite campuses in other parts of the state.

Its reach is not limited to New England however, and Northeastern has graduate campuses in Charlotte, North Carolina, Seattle, Silicon Valley, and Toronto.

The university has produced a wide-ranging list of notable alumni from a wide range of professional industries. Richard Egan and Roger Marino, co-founders of multinational EMC Corporation graduated from Northeastern in 1961. Jeff Clarke the CEO of Kodak took his MBA at the university.

Clinical research in Mood Disorders The Faculty of Medicine and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are collaborating in a clinical research study, led locally by Professor David Baldwin, investigating the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation in patients with depression. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong research and organisational skills to develop their expertise. Applications are invited from enthusiastic early-stage researchers to join the research team. The post involves undergoing training in certain psychopathological rating scales, providing study information and assessing potential study participants, monitoring participant progress during the study, entering data into on-line systems, assisting with study awareness-raising, and attendance at local and national research team meetings. The appointee joins an existing research team, working on this and other studies. They would ensure that the study is undertaken in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and other regulatory standards. Description The Mubadala Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (Mubadala ACCESS), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an Associate Research Scientist to support a major NYU Abu Dhabi-OceanX initiative focused on advancing coral reef monitoring, applied research and regional capacity building across Southeast Asia, with particular emphasis on Malaysia. The successful applicant will play a central role in coordinating and implementing a multi-year coral reef monitoring and training program across Southeast Asia. The Associate Research Scientist will contribute to the design, coordination, and delivery of annual field missions aboard the RV OceanXplorer, support the implementation of standardized reef monitoring protocols, and deliver hands-on training programs for regional partners. The position includes supporting pre and post mission workshops, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and contributing to the development of regional scientific networks. The Associate Research Scientist will also assist in organizing an annual Southeast Asia learning exchange hosted at NYU Abu Dhabi, supporting agenda development, training sessions in reef monitoring and data analysis, and coordination with university administrative units. A key component of the role involves contributing to the organization and management of data and metadata systems associated with Southeast Asian reef monitoring activities conducted in partnership with OceanX. The candidate will support standardized data workflows, quality control, documentation, and the development of open-access products tailored to researchers, decision-makers, NGOs, and public audiences. The role further includes supporting reporting, communications, and stakeholder coordination across NYUAD, OceanX, Dalio Philanthropies, and regional partners. The Associate Research Scientist will contribute to progress updates, annual reports, stakeholder briefings, and public-facing communication materials in collaboration with NYUAD and OceanX Communications teams. The position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with regular travel to Southeast Asia during mission and training periods. Applicants must hold a PhD in Marine Biology, Marine Science, Coral Reef Ecology, or a closely related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in their field (not including the years obtaining the PhD or equivalent terminal degree). Candidates must have demonstrated experience in coral reef monitoring programs in Southeast Asia, ideally in Malaysia, and hold SCUBA certification at a minimum of PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent). Experience delivering training or capacity-building programs, engaging with regional partners or government agencies, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications is required. Fluency in English is essential, and fluency in Malay/Bahasa Melayu is considered a strong asset. Preferred qualifications include advanced diving certification, training in ecological monitoring protocols, and experience with GIS, data management platforms, or applied reef assessment frameworks. The Role and the Department The Arrow Programme is a collaboration between Durham University, Newcastle University, Northumbria University and the University of Sunderland. Innovation Associate's responsibilities on a day-to-day basis include: Acting as the main point of contact for all parties involved (academics, researchers and commercial staff) in an allocated portfolio of short tasked based projects, co-developed around the client's needs.Delivering bespoke collaborative research & innovation support activities for regional businesses, this can include: designing the project plan, with guidance from the academics and the company conducting literature reviews, conducting primary/secondary research, performing laboratory experiments, facilitating consultations co-ordinating the collaboration between relevant academics at North-East Universities and company representatives carrying out data analysis and report writing. Description The Deep Learning laboratory in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to work on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). The successful applicants will lead the labs efforts in action-less design, continual learning, planning with world models, and contrastive RL. Our laboratory has expertise in deep learning, including deep reinforcement learning, large language models, and the theory of deep learning. The candidate will develop DRL algorithms for online and off-line tasks, for robotic applications and possibly for LLM reasoning applications in the future. The work will involve designing algorithms, running experiments on the HPC, analyzing the results and improving the algorithms. It will also involve extensive literature reviews. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in computer science, have significant experience with deep learning with PyTorch, and have expertise in reinforcement learning. The applicant should have already completed several major projects in DRL. The applicant should also possess excellent mathematical and English skills.
