Mount Royal University (MRU) is a public university in Calgary, Alberta. From its first campus, which was affectionately known as "the barn", to its current high-tech university grounds, environmentally-friendly buildings and diverse educational offerings, Mount Royal has developed since it was first established in 1910. . It offers students some 33 majors across 12 degrees at the faculty of continuing education and extension, the faculty of science and technology, the faculty of health, community and education, and the faculty of arts. There is also a school of communication studies and the Bissett School of Business. In 2017, Mount Royal became the third Canadian university to receive the Ashoka Changemaker Campus designation in recognition of the it has worked to support indigenous communities and engage with both local and global challenges in socially and environmentally conscious ways. Notable alumni of the institution include Paul Brandt, most awarded male country musician in Canadian history; Chris Gailus, Emmy-award winning news anchor and Alison Redford, a former Premier of Alberta.

Description We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline in the social sciences. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor Stéphane Helleringer. The collaborative research will be on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries, with an emphasis on measurement issues and the impact of crises such as epidemics and disasters. The job entails conducting high-quality research on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries. This includes conceptualizing research questions, designing empirical studies, collecting or acquiring new data sets, and analyzing these data using advanced statistical models and visualization techniques. The job also emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge about population health, particularly through the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, software packages and/or participation in international conferences. Candidates must hold a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health or related discipline in the social sciences. The ideal candidate is preferred to have prior experience with data collection and collaboration in low-and-middle-income countries and good knowledge of R or other software for data management, analysis and visualization. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. It aims to pioneer the XJTLU 2.0 – Syntegrative Education model to cultivate future-ready leaders. As part of its vision and mission to explore Syntegrative Education and create an entrepreneurial ecosystem, XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) comprises seven Industry-themed Schools and several campus-level platforms.  The Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub (EEH), as one of the cross-campus innovation platforms, serves as the cornerstone for catalysing entrepreneurial learning, applied research, and venture development. EEH is led by a Director and consists of four divisions: Entrepreneurial Education, Entrepreneurship and Incubation, Enterprise and Industry Ecosystem, and Industry Executive Education. This role directly oversees the Entrepreneurial Education division, which provides entrepreneurial education to UG and PG students campus wide, and conduct research on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. Position Overview: Applications are invited for the position of Director of Entrepreneurship Education under the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub at the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), part of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). The position of Director will be a key link between business partners’ schools within the XEC campus, and XJTLU, with a remit to develop entrepreneurial education activity within the Entrepreneur College (Taicang). As a member of the Taicang campus Leadership Team, the Director will lead and contribute to interdisciplinary innovation, research and knowledge exploration through working collaboratively with the Deans of Schools, Directors of Education, Research & Development Institute, and Heads of professional divisions of the Entrepreneur College (Taicang) and wider University.  Roles & Responsibilities: The Director of the Entrepreneurship Education is responsible for the development, implementation, launch, and management of both campus level and School level entrepreneurial education and research activity. The Finnish Museum of Natural History (LUOMUS) at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a Postdoctoral researcher in insect morphology and evolution for a fixed-term period of two years. The work will be based at the Finnish Museum of Natural History (Luomus), Helsinki, Finland. The postdoctoral researcher will join the PhenoBees project, funded by the Research Council of Finland, and work under the supervision of Diego S. Porto, an Academy Research Fellow. The successful candidate is expected to start by September 2026. ABOUT THE POSITION The main goal of the PhenoBees project is to develop a semantic data workflow to integrate comparative information from different phylogenetic datasets (for more details, see: PhenoBees page) and address hypotheses about the evolution of the mouthparts of bees (Hymenoptera: Apoidea). As part of the main project, the work of the postdoctoral researcher will be focused on generating, processing, and analysing comparative morphological data on bee mouthparts. The ultimate goal of the postdoctoral research is to understand the drivers and dynamics underlying the evolution of the mouthparts in bees. The postdoctoral researcher will be primarily responsible for: Data collection: Dissecting and preparing material of bee mouthparts and measuring anatomical structures; Data analysis: Analysing comparative data (discrete and continuous traits) to test alternative hypotheses of modularity/integration of mouthpart structures in bees; Morphological study: Performing comparative anatomical study of a representative of a long-tongued bee and a short-tongued bee; Dissemination: Contributing in manuscript writing and attending conferences QUALIFICATIONS The position requires: A doctoral degree relevant to the project (e.g., biology, entomology, evolutionary biology) Experience working with comparative anatomy of insects, preferentially Hymenoptera The ability to conduct independent scholarly work Teaching skills necessary for the position Excellent collaboration and communication skills Excellent written and spoken English skills Clear motivation and commitment to perform the research Highly valued qualifications: Experience working with bee morphology Experience working with CT-Scan data or willingness to learn the necessary skills to work with it Knowledge of morphometrics and/or phylogenetic comparative methods in general WHY WORKING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI?
