Founded in 1967, Hacettepe University is a public institution located in the Turkish capital city of Ankara. It is considered to be among the best medical schools in the country.
The institution is organised across 14 faculties in Communication, Dentistry, Economics and Administrative Science, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Health Sciences, Law, Letters, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, and Sport Science.
There are an additional 14 graduate schools and institutes, two applied schools, one conservatory, five vocational schools and 104 research and application centres within the university estate.
Hacettepe has two main campus, one in Ankara’s old town of Ankara, which houses the Medical Centre, and the second in the Beytepe area of the city, with over 1,000 acres of woodland. Other campuses are located in Beşevler, Polatlı and Sincan.
Almost 50,000 students attend the university, which is supported by 3,600 academic staff. Hacettepe offers more than 150 undergraduate degree programmes and over 200 programmes for postgraduates.
The university encourage values of respect, aesthetics, participation and farsightedness among students and staff, as well as a willingness to pave the way for change and development.
The emblem of the university, designed in the 1960s by a second year medical student, is a stag - symbolic of a Hittite deity - which incorporates the letters ‘H’ and ‘T’ for Hacettepe.

Essential 8 or more years of industry and/or applied academia experience and knowledge in enhancing environmental sustainability through sustainability management. Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of sustainability measurement and management, such as life cycle analysis, circular economy, sustainability road mapping (e.g., decarbonisation for net-zero transition), sustainability change management, and organisational sustainability strategy development. Knowledge in sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, carbon markets, and regulatory developments. Motivated to lead, develop and teach curriculum related to sustainability both for pre-employment learners and continuous education and training. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals by creating innovative, nutritious, and visually appealing food products that cater to their specific dietary needs. Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team for a fixed-term project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating objective texture testing methods that can accurately categorize foods within the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework, with a specific focus on Level 5 (Minced & Moist). This role will involve designing custom test fixtures, conducting practical laboratory work, and performing data analysis to create a robust and reliable testing protocol. Key Responsbilities: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on food rheology, texture analysis, particle analysis, image analysis and the IDDSI framework. Design and execute experiments to develop new instrumental texture analysis methods suitable for IDDSI Level 5 foods. Validate new methods against existing standards and a sensory panel to ensure accuracy and clinical relevance. Collect, analyze, and interpret data from instrumental and sensory evaluations. Document all experimental procedures, findings, and analyses in technical reports and prepare presentations to industry stakeholders and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with a research team, including food scientists, clinicians, and engineers, to ensure the developed methods are practical and clinically relevant. Job Requirements: A degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's or Ph.D. in a related research field is advantageous. Experience with instrumental texture, image analysis and particle sizing techniques (e.g., texture analyzers, universal testing machines) is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in material characterization techniques, such as stress-strain characterization. Proficiency in analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, R, or other statistical software). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
